Technology with the potential to make a difference
Aqua-Nu Filtration Systems Ltd has pioneered novel water filtration technologies that have far-reaching commercial and humanitarian applications in both the developed and developing worlds.
The company's team of scientists and technologists, has spent four years developing and testing unique point-of-use filtration technologies using non-chemical based 'ultra high flow rate' ceramics and original anti-microbial treatment systems.
In tests conducted with independent laboratories, notably CAL Ltd in Ireland along with South East Water and Severn Trent Laboratories in the UK, this unique, efficient, flexible water filtration system has performed substantially beyond industry standards and leading market competitors in respect of:
- Filtration capacity for a wide variety of contaminants, including micro-organisms, inorganic elements and organic compounds, such as
- Cryptosporidium & Giardia > 99.99%
- Unassisted flow rates, for domestic and industry usage of 1.2 litres per minute at 100 millibar which is approximately 60 times faster than the closest ceramic product on the market
The benefits of Aqua-Nu Filtration Systems technology go well beyond immediate commercial applications with a strong potential impact on:
Health Worldwide
According to the World Health Organisation safer water could prevent millions of deaths.
The Environment
Every year, 2.7 billion tons of plastic is used worldwide to bottle water. Most water bottles are made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a plastic derived from crude-oil that accounts for about 0.25 percent of the world's annual oil consumption. Empty bottles are either incinerated, causing harmful emissions, or they are deposited in landfill sites. It is estimated to take between 450 and 1000 years for the bottles to degrade.
